Downside with drawing ellipse – #12 by RTCool – SketchUp


Having watched mihal.s’ answer it trigerred a deep reminiscence again to my engineering drawing classes at college circa 1970 once we have been compelled to attract ellipses in response to a vertical scale which is right here;

5°= 10% vertical scale.
10° = 18% vertical scale.
15° = 26% vertical scale.
20° = 34% vertical scale.
30° = 50% vertical scale.
Isometric ellipse (35 diploma 16 minutes) = 57.4% vertical scale.
40° = 63% vertical scale.
45° = 70% vertical scale.
50° = 76% vertical scale.
55° = 79% vertical scale.
60° = 83% vertical scale.
65° = 88% vertical scale.
70° = 94% vertical scale.
80° = 97% vertical scale.
90° = the right circle.
Be aware: Different ellipses will be created by extrapolating the above desk.

So I attempted it in Make 2017:
From an ideal circle>choose it> choose scale instrument>choose centre seize level>maintain cmd(mac) and kind decimal scale in measurements. Consequence ellipses in a short time which can be correct sufficient for my wants with out the necessity for an extension.

Not saying that is the way in which to go however the outdated gray matter kicked in and I needed to give it a go.
